WELCOME TO THE HILLSBORO HIGH BAND

The Mission of the Hilhi Band program is to provide a quality music education to all students. Our focus is building quality by focusing on the individual performer. Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, and solo experience leads to a well-rounded player.

Performance opportunities, especially those through the Oregon Music Educators Association, are encouraged for all. Additionally, through the band, a feeling of belonging, teamwork, time management, dedication, self-esteem, leadership, cooperation and responsibility is learned.

Welcome to the 2024 HilHi Spartan Marching Band and Color Guard! Please check the band calendar often for updates on band events and practices.  Many changes occur throughout the season.

Key Upcoming Events

  • 8/12/24-8/16/24 Band & Color Guard Camp (9am-8pm) – all band and color guard students are required to attend (will end early on 8/16 to go bowling)
  • 8/17/24 Can and Bottle Drive fundraiser (10-11, or anytime the first week of band camp) – drop off cans and bottles by the band room
  • 8/19/24-8/23/24 Band & Color Guard Camp (9am-8pm) – all band and color guard students are required to attend
  • 8/23/24 Fall Marching Showcase, followed by family potluck (5:00 pm-whenever) – families will have the opportunity to see what the kids have been working on during camps as they perform the marching show. Then we will convene to eat together. Please sign up here to bring something to the potluck.
  • 8/24/24 (First Annual?) Band and Color Guard Car Show Fundraiser (10 am-2pm, volunteers start earlier)
  • 8/26/24-11/2/24 Fall Practices (Tentatively: 6-9 on M, W, Th)
  • 9/6/24-11/2/24 Games & Competitions (see calendar for dates)

If you have not registered yet, please complete your registration by clicking here as soon as possible as the HilHi Band Boosters rely on the online registration form to plan meals, order T-shirts, coordinate volunteers, and for communicating important information to parents.

RETURNING BAND STUDENTS STILL NEED TO REGISTER.

Within the handbook you will find detailed information regarding band practices and events, band fees, volunteer opportunities, and scholarship information.

To stay informed, join the Remind app for Hilhi Band And Color Guard (Link to Remind App). Once people have joined, we will begin using the app for quick announcements, so that parents who don’t use Facebook or don’t check often can get important announcements in a timely manner.

Sign up to volunteer (earn credits toward fees) on Track It Forward (volunteer sign-up) – We need parent volunteers to help chaperone and feed the kids at camp, and for other jobs throughout the season! Marching season does not happen without parent volunteers! Please consider signing up now for this and other volunteer opportunities!
